It was with a sigh of no small magnitude that Cooper realized he’d never even finished unpacking all his boxes from his move to Fastlane, as he loaded them into the back of his van. Crates and bins of pelts, antlers, and bones filled the tiny living space, along with bedding, clothes, and the tools of his trade. Half-fletched arrows would spend the trip riding along in the front seat with him, carefully bound with the sinew that he would complete them with, and he’d chosen a few choice snacks as well - jerky, mostly, and the last of the dried fruit he’d wrangled.
Closing the door, he took a last look around the base with a frown. There had been nearly nothing but trouble for him here, since he came…hopefully, this time, his wanderer’s heart would find rest nestled in the chilled Alpine forests and mountains where his brother hunter roamed. Thinking of the opportunities ahead, he smiled, and went to check on his beloved Engineer to make sure he was ready for the trip ahead as well.
To brighter days.
